Welcome!
Whether you buy them here, buy them somewhere else, or borrow them from a friend, these are all highly-recommended books! The all carry the Magick Circle "Screened For Bullshit" seal of approval!
There are so many great books available about practicing magick. There are also some pretty bad ones. We've compiled a list of reading material that we think will greatly benefit anyone choosing or considering the pagan path.

The Spiral Dance : A Rebirth of the Ancient Religion of the
Great Goddess by Starhawk
- Paperback - 304 pages 10th anniv edition (November 1989) Harper San Francisco.
- The original book that brought Goddess worship to the public eye has marked its 10th anniversary, yet it still remains an integral part of the Wiccan canon. The
Spiral Dance leans heavily toward the feminist aspects of Wicca, but Starhawk's comments on the new edition make it clear that she is aware of the growing
male presence in witchcraft. (Comments on this book taken from the Amazon book review.)

A Kitchen Witch's Cookbook by Patricia Telesco
- Paperback - 384 pages (February 1998) Llewellyn Publications.
- This is one of my most absolutel favorite books ever. Telesco transforms mundane meals into sublime spellwork. This cookbook includes magickal correspondences of herbs, kitchen utensils, moon phases and runes with recipes ranging from stuffed mushrooms, to meads to pastas. The pages of my copy are tattered and stained from spending too much time on my kitchen counter!

Wicca : A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham
- Paperback - 240 pages (November 1990) Llewellyn Publications.
- If you don't already have this book, then you really must pick up a copy. Cunningham lays out the basics of ritual, sabbats, and the nuts and bolts of Wicca. This is the book I recommend to anyone who asks, "What is Wicca?" This is another book I have that has tattered, tired pages from frequently referring back to it. I keep one for myself and another to loan out.

The Practical Qabalah by Charles Fielding
- Paperback - 184 pages (August 1990) Samuel Weiser.
- Much of modern and old magick is based on the Qabalah. This ancient Hebrew text sets the groundwork for the mysticism we still practice today. Wicca and Golden Dawn are both very much rooted in Qabalat teachings. Fielding's Practical Qabalah disects the often cryptic Qabalah and puts it into modern context. He breaks down the Sephirot (Circles of the Tree of Life) and even provides a basic primer in reading Hebrew.
